[Thanksgiving] We are in God’s Hands

We (Felix and I) are so grateful for all the blessings in our lives. Life is not very easy. But God has sent angels to protect us – from physical needs to spiritual needs – He’s got our back.

I want to record down the several particular blessings He has given us over the Thanksgiving Break.

  1. We were able to get on a plane to Utah with cheap – free tickets. He gave me a job that would allow my family and I to get on a plane for free. We were able to go back to Utah to see our family and friends. That was what I needed! I miss them very much. We worried there would be many people – but luckily – we got on the plane!
  2. We went to the Temple. It’s really a great blessing to live close to the Temple. We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, which was 10 mins away from our friends’ house. It was amazing! We have decided that we would live near to the Temple if possible. In the future…
  3. We SAFELY arrived to the airport.Originally we planned to get on the 5 a.m. flight, but we knew it would be impossible the night before. So we spent more time with friends and had some very good food! Which made me very happy. Then we planned to get on the 8:45 a.m. flight, so we left at 7:30 a.m. to the airport. Our friends were very generous and kind to send us there.

The problem is, Utah (at least Salt Lake Valley/ Utah Valley area) was covered with snow Saturday morning. Roads were super icy… And our friends have never driven in snow before as they are from the pineapple state.

Things were OK on Bangerter Highway. But things got crazy when we were on I-15… Cars were spinning all over the freeway. We saw more than 10 cars crashed on side in a 5-min distance. THEN! A truck just spun 360 degree in front of us and the car behind it tried to avoid it, and went to our way! It was SO CLOSE/ SCARY that I thought it would hit us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then we went to smaller road as we were so scared. The road was still very icy that at one point the car couldn’t brake at the red light… We heard our friend stomping on the brake but in vain… He then kept honking, letting other know about the situation. That was… scary…

And we safely arrived to the airport. Finally.

Although we couldn’t get on the 8:45 a.m. flight, we were still able to get on a later flight and went back to Michigan safely. We were so blessed…!!!!!!!!!!!!! According to KSL, there were more than 200 car accidents Saturday on I-15, as of 8:30 a.m.

    We were truly, truly, blessed.
